DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. (March 10, 2018) – Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM’s Jordon Smith took his first win of the season in dominating fashion and the third of his career at the prestigious race inside Daytona International Speedway. Smith grabbed the holeshot and led wire-to-wire, continuing his upward trend in finishes as the Eastern Regional championship hit its fourth of nine rounds. Teammate Sean Cantrell bounced back from a tough previous round to finish with his best result of the season in seventh.

The previous round proved that Cantrell was mentally tough to overcome plenty of misfortune. He started the night with a six-place finish in a stacked heat race. Cantrell capitalized on a great start and was with the front-runners in the opening laps. He ran a solid pace and eventually moved into seventh where he would finish, collecting his best finish during his rookie season.
“I was really looking forward to Daytona and its unique track and layout,” said Cantrell. “It was a fun race but was easy to make mistakes throughout the long laps. I’m learning each week and was really happy to put up my best result so far. We’ll keep pushing and learning as the season continues.”
