Barcia had a confident start to the day securing the fastest qualifying time that would earn him number one gate pick going into the night show. The first gate drop on his GasGas MC450F couldn’t have gone any better for the seasoned vet as he was able to take the first holeshot of the night and follow it up with his first Heat race win of the year. After another flawless start In the Main Event, Barcia battled for the win amongst a stacked lineup of riders. Checking out from the rest of the pack Justin went on to finish the night strong on top of the podium!

Barcia: “To be able to add my name to a short list of legends that have won back to back Supercross Season Openers is probably one of the coolest feelings in the world but to be able to do it on my GasGas MC 450F takes that feeling to another level. It was a perfect race – tonight was one of those races where you just check out and feel like you are the only one out there racing. Taking home that red plate gives me the confidence that I need to go back out and do it again next weekend in Houston!"

TK: ““We may be new to the GasGas brand this year but we are not new to the Supercross scene. It’s been a lot of work for everyone involved in order to get this team ready to go racing and to be able to make history with GasGas and Justin tonight speaks volume to what you can expect from him for the rest of the season.”
